
Dubai Marks 43% Surge In Commercial Vehicles In 2024

Dubai's vehicle rental sector witnessed significant growth last year over 2023. Newly registered commercial vehicles saw an approximate 43% rise, and the number of registered vehicle rental firms increased by around 33% during the same period. Car rentals are a crucial part of Dubai's economy, particularly in supporting tourism and corporate business activities.
Dubai Media Office, citing the Commercial Transport Activities Department at RTA’s Licensing Agency, reported that 867 new rental firms were registered in 2024. As a result, the total number of active companies in the sector grew to 3,494, compared to 2,627 in 2023. By the end of 2024, the total number of vehicles in rental fleets was 71,040, up from 49,725 in the previous year. High-end vehicle rentals also marked growth, rising by 73%, and the number of electric vehicles in rental fleets increased by 50% compared to 2023.
