
Manchester United Co-Owner’s Wealth Falls By Nearly £6.5 Billion
|Ratcliffe's position on the annual list of the UK's 350 wealthiest individuals has declined from fourth to seventh.
Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's wealth has declined by £6.473 billion in the past 12 months. As per the latest Sunday Times Rich List, the drop represents more than a quarter of his fortune. The 72-year-old's current wealth is estimated at £17.046 billion, down from £23.519 billion a year ago.
Ratcliffe's position on the annual list of the UK's 350 wealthiest individuals has declined from fourth to seventh. Sir Jim’s Ineos group secured a 27.7% stake in Manchester United for £1.25 billion in 2024 and has been overseeing the club's football operations since then. According to an ESPN report, the business mogul has invested more than £300m into Manchester United.
During Ratcliffe's period, the club has implemented various cost-cutting measures, including ticket price increases and staff redundancies. Amid this, the English football club also announced a plan to build a new 100,000-seat stadium that will be the biggest in the UK. According to the club, the new stadium will cost nearly £2 billion.
