US President Donald Trump also reacted to India's military action

The Indian armed forces on Wednesday morning launched strikes on terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Nine sites were targeted in the strikes under the codename 'Operation Sindoor'. India launched the operation in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which claimed 26 lives.

"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution," said India's Ministry of Defence. "These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," the ministry added.

According to an NDTV report, India's retaliatory strike was designed to dismantle major logistical, operational, and training infrastructure used by various terrorist organisations. At the same time, US President Donald Trump also reacted to India's military action. "We just heard about it as we were walking through the doors of the Oval. Just heard about it. I guess people knew something was going to happen based on a little bit of the past," Trump reportedly said.
