Riyadh - The Ministry of Health (MoH) has successfully completed the first phase of its transformation by introducing health clusters across Saudi Arabia. This significant step is part of the healthcare sector transformation program, which aims to enhance the quality of care and services while aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. The MoH stated that this restructuring initiative will improve beneficiary satisfaction and their overall healthcare experience, according to a report from the state-owned Saudi Press Agency.

This transformative initiative is in response to Cabinet decision No. 469, which approved the establishment of the Health Holding Co. This newly formed company will oversee healthcare services through regional health clusters under the supervision of MoH.

The launch of health clusters aims to streamline beneficiaries' healthcare journeys from primary care to hospital referrals. These clusters, consisting of hospitals and care centers, are designed to serve approximately one million people each and embody a modern care model.

Each cluster comprises primary care centers, public hospitals, and specialized services. Beneficiaries can access these services efficiently within their respective cluster, ensuring flexibility, speed, and overall satisfaction with their healthcare experience. Additionally, these health clusters prioritize population health within their areas by conducting periodic health checks and fostering healthier communities.

The introduction of these health clusters marks a significant milestone in transforming Saudi Arabia's healthcare sector towards greater efficiency and improved patient outcomes. By implementing this new model focused on integrated care delivery at a local level, the MoH aims to provide high-quality healthcare services that meet international standards while enhancing accessibility for all beneficiaries across the Kingdom.
