Apple Set To Host WWDC 2025 On June 9

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to begin on Monday, June 9. This year's annual developers conference will showcase the software updates and new technologies, including the next version of Apple iOS. The iPhone maker is also expected to share a few updates on the AI front during the event, scheduled to conclude on June 13.

Last week, Bloomberg reported that the company is considering renaming its operating systems. The report indicates that iOS 19 will be renamed iOS 26 to reflect the release year rather than version numbers. This name change will extend to other software updates, including iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26. Moreover, the operating system is also likely to witness a significant design change. Possible design elements include translucent panels for navigation and circular app icons. Apple is also reportedly developing a dedicated gaming app that will replace the Game Center app.

Apple might enhance iPhone battery health through AI-powered battery management. The feature is rumoured to conserve battery life by analysing how the device is used and making adjustments accordingly. Meanwhile, 9to5Mac reports that the Messages app will gain an Apple Intelligence-powered translation feature. In last year's event, Apple unveiled iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 Sequoia, and the first Apple Intelligence features.
