Dream11 Pulls Out As Indian Cricket Team’s Title Sponsor
Dream11 had signed a three-year deal worth ₹358 crore in July 2023 to replace Byju’s as the Indian team’s lead sponsor.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially ended its association with fantasy sports platform Dream11, following the enactment of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025. The bill, which was passed in both houses of Parliament and recently received presidential assent, has forced Dream11 to suspend all money-based gaming contests on its platform, making its continued sponsorship untenable under the new law.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the development on Monday, stating that the board is now actively deliberating on securing a new lead sponsor ahead of the Men’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28. “Under the new legislation, it will be difficult for BCCI to continue with Dream11 or any similar gaming company. So, there is a roadblock, and we are now looking at alternative options,” Saikia reportedly told IANS.
Dream11 had signed a three-year deal worth ₹358 crore in July 2023 to replace Byju’s as the Indian team’s lead sponsor. It also held a significant presence in the Indian Premier League (IPL), including a stint as title sponsor in 2020 after Vivo’s exit. However, with the change in regulatory policy, the company’s operations in money-based gaming are no longer compliant. Saikia clarified that Dream11 will not face penalties for the early termination, as the contract included a clause protecting the sponsor in case of a government ban on its core business.
