Dubai's GDP Reaches AED 339 Billion In First Nine Months Of 2024

The transportation and storage sector witnessed a growth of 5.3% to reach AED 42.135 billion.

Dubais GDP Reaches AED 339 Billion In First Nine Months Of 2024

Dubai's economy grew by 3.1% in the first nine months of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, reaching AED 339.4 billion. Trade, transportation and storage, and finance and insurance emerge as the leading sectors driving the emirate's GDP growth.

According to Dubai Media Office report, the wholesale and retail trade sector reached AED 83.12 billion in the first three quarters of last year, marking a growth of 2.9%. The transportation and storage sector witnessed a growth of 5.3% to reach AED 42.135 billion. It represented 12.4% of Dubai's GDP. At the same time, the financial and insurance activities sector grew by 4.5% to reach AED39.439 billion. The manufacturing sector expanded by 2.3%, while the accommodation and food services sector rose by 3.7%.

“As the D33 Agenda enters its third year, it reinforces Dubai’s commitment to creating a future-ready economy through initiatives that advance innovation, prioritise sustainability, and leverage cutting-edge technologies," said Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). The emirate's new economic agenda called 'D33' includes the launch of innovative projects that will drive sustainable economic growth through innovative approaches and double GDP by 2033.
