IMDb Reveals Most Anticipated Indian Films Of 2026
Hindi cinema leads the pack with 10 films on the list, while Telugu films account for five entries and Tamil cinema has three.

With 2026 underway, the spotlight is firmly on the films set to hit theatres this year. Big names, big budgets and big expectations are all part of the mix. With so many high-profile projects lined up, the question is which ones have caught fans’ attention the most. IMDb’s latest list of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2026 provides the answer.
Based on audience interest from over 250 million users around the world, IMDb has revealed its list of the 20 most anticipated Indian movies of this year. Hindi cinema leads the pack with 10 films on the list, while Telugu films account for five entries and Tamil cinema has three. The remaining spots are taken by one Malayalam and one Kannada film. Topping IMDb’s list is King. The action-packed project has already grabbed attention for bringing Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter, Suhana Khan, together on screen for the first time. Adding to the excitement, the film also marks SRK’s reunion with Happy New Year co-stars Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan. There’s no word yet on when King will release. The film is being directed by Siddharth Anand, and the team has chosen not to reveal anything about the storyline so far.
Right behind King on the list is Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is set to arrive in cinemas on November 8, 2026. Taking the third spot is Jana Nayagan, which is being widely seen as Vijay’s farewell to cinema ahead of his full-time entry into politics. Rounding out the top five are Prabhas’ Spirit and Toxic, starring Yash.
Following the top five, Bollywood keeps its strong presence on the list. Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan is at sixth, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha comes in seventh, and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 sits at eighth. The ninth spot goes to Border 2, starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Rounding out the top 10 is the Tamil film LIK: Love Insurance Kompany, led by Pradeep Ranganathan. Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, is the only Malayalam film to feature on the list. With a star-studded cast including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, and Nayanthara, it holds the 19th spot and has fans eagerly waiting for its release.
