WhatsApp Introduces AI-Powered 'Writing Help' To Rephrase And Adjust Message Tone
The feature is now being introduced in English

WhatsApp has announced a new AI feature called “Writing Help”, designed to assist users in rephrasing their messages, adjusting tone, and improving grammar directly within the app. Powered by Meta’s Private Processing technology, the tool allows users to generate message suggestions without compromising privacy. Neither WhatsApp nor Meta can read the original messages or the AI-generated rewrites, ensuring end-to-end message security remains intact.
With Writing Help, users can choose from different tones, such as professional, funny, or supportive, or simply opt for a rephrased version of their original text. The goal is to help users fine-tune their communication without needing to leave the app or rely on external tools like ChatGPT. To access the feature, users can tap the new pencil icon that appears while drafting a message.
The Writing Help feature is now being introduced in English, starting with users in the US and a few other countries. WhatsApp says it plans to expand the feature to more languages and regions later this year.
