Xiaomi Enters Electric SUV Market With YU7 Launch
Top version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds.

Xiaomi, Chinese EV and smartphone maker, has entered the electric SUV market with the launch of the YU7. The electric SUV is currently available only in China, offered in Standard, Pro, and Max versions. The vehicle reportedly received over 200,000 pre-orders within three minutes. The YU7 is the second car from Xiaomi's automotive venture, following last year's launch of its sporty electric SU7 sedan.
The Xiaomi YU7's standard version is equipped with a 96.3 kWh battery pack, claiming a range of 835 km (CLTC). The top variant features a 101.7 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of up to 760 km. Xiaomi also claimed that the vehicle can go from 10% to 80% charge in a mere 12 minutes and gain up to 620 km of range in just 15 minutes. The YU7 features Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V6s Plus technology, which reportedly generates up to 690 horsepower, enabling the top version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds.
Xiaomi has priced the YU7's standard version at CNY 2,53,500 (roughly Rs. 30 lakh). Meanwhile, the Pro or Max models arrive with a price tag of CNY 2,79,900 (approximately Rs. 33 lakh) and CNY 3,29,900 (approximately Rs. 39 lakh), respectively. Xiaomi's main competitive target in China is Tesla, as their YU7's base model is priced 10,000 yuan lower than the starting price of Tesla’s Model Y.
