Riyadh: Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has extended an invitation to the public and those interested to share their views and opinions on the draft law that seeks to criminalize irregular practices negatively impacting the labor market.

Through the Istitlaa platform, the ministry welcomes proposals from the public regarding additional articles to be incorporated into the labor law. The deadline for submitting these proposals is set for April 20, 2024.

The primary goal of this law is to crack down on the recruitment of professional and domestic workers without valid employment contracts with their respective employers. The focus particularly lies on addressing illegal brokering activities that seek to facilitate the provision of labor services.

The ministry's initiative to seek public input reflects its commitment to fostering transparency and inclusivity in developing effective policies to safeguard the labor market. By involving the public, the HRSD aims to draw upon a diverse range of perspectives and insights to shape the final version of the law.

With the imminent implementation of this legislation, the HRSD is taking a strong stance against irregular practices that undermine the rights and well-being of workers in Saudi Arabia.
