Abu Dhabi Completes Rehabilitation Project At Sir Bani Yas Airport
As part of the project, the airport's runway, taxiways, and apron pavements have been fully reconstructed

Abu Dhabi Airports, the operator of the five commercial airports in the emirate, has announced the completion of a comprehensive rehabilitation project at Sir Bani Yas Airport (XSB). The revamp focused on significant improvements to the airfield.
As part of the project, the airport's runway, taxiways, and apron pavements have been fully reconstructed. Additionally, the lighting systems have been completely revitalised to enhance night operations and visibility for ground personnel. The runway widening enables the airport to accommodate Code 4E aircraft operations, strengthening its capacity to handle the growing number of tourists visiting Sir Bani Yas Island.
Furthermore, Sir Bani Yas Airport's weather observation systems have been upgraded to state-of-the-art technology. Located 250 kilometers southwest of the Abu Dhabi coast in the Al Dhafra Region, Sir Bani Yas Airport serves as the primary entry point to the island, a popular eco-tourism destination.
