The project is part of the collaboration between The Walt Disney Company and Miral.

The Walt Disney Company has unveiled plans for a new theme park resort in Abu Dhabi. The project, which will be located on Yas Island, is part of the collaboration between The Walt Disney Company and Miral. This will be Disney’s seventh global theme park and also marks its entry to the Middle East.
The new resort will be fully developed and built by Miral, and Disney will lead creative design, attraction development and operational oversight. Upon completion, the project will offer signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, dining and retail experiences. The company has similar parks in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, noted that the project reflects the importance and global standing of both the UAE and the emirate as a major destination in the leisure tourism sector. Meanwhile, Disney also mentioned in its statement that the UAE is located within a four-hour flight of one-third of the world’s population, making it a significant gateway for tourism.
