Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to open a new entry and exit point to Al Warqa directly from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road early next week. Once finished, the project will boost road capacity by 5,000 vehicles per hour, slash travel time by 80%, and shorten trip distances from 5.7 km to just 1.5 km.

RTA has also finished traffic improvement works on Street 13 in Al Warqa 1, benefiting both residents and schoolgoers. The enhancements are included in an extensive 8 km internal road development project, which seeks to optimise traffic flow and increase the efficiency of the local road network.

The development projects in Al Warqa also feature improvements to the internal road networks within Al Warqa 3 and 4. This involves road paving, the construction of pedestrian walkways, pavements, and parking spaces, along with the implementation of cycling tracks exceeding 23 km in total length. For the next phase, Al Warqa 1 will see capacity enhancements through the conversion of roundabouts into smart traffic-light junctions.
