Google Gemini Can Now Schedule Tasks

To make Gemini a more useful assistant, Google has unveiled a new feature. Gemini AI now offers Scheduled Actions, through which users can streamline routine tasks or receive personalised updates directly from the AI chatbot. Scheduled actions are rolling out currently to Gemini app users with a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription.

The feature allows users to automate tasks like receiving a morning summary of their calendar and unread emails, generating five blog ideas each Monday, or keeping up with their favourite sports team. "In your conversation, simply ask Gemini to perform a task at a specific time, or transform a prompt you're already using into a recurring action. You can manage them anytime within the scheduled actions page within settings," said Google in a blog post on June 6. "Just tell Gemini what you need and when, and it will take care of the rest," the company added.

Google is expected to release this feature on Gemini’s free tier in the future, though no official announcement has been made. OpenAI's ChatGPT also provides a similar feature for subscribers, enabling the AI chatbot to send reminders or perform recurring actions.
