Greenfield FDI Projects: Dubai Ranked World’s Top Destination

Dubai has been ranked the world’s No.1 destination for Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects. The emirate is making this achievement for the fourth successive year. According to Financial Times Ltd.’s ‘fDi Markets’ data, Dubai attracted $14.24 billion in estimated FDI capital last year, a 33.2% increase from $10.69 billion in 2023.

Dubai Media Office reported that the emirate attracted 1,117 Greenfield FDI projects in 2024, which is the highest in its history. Moreover, a total of 58,680 estimated jobs were generated through FDI in 2024, a 31% surge from 44,745 jobs in 2023. Dubai also advanced from fourth to third globally in terms of jobs created through inward FDI in 2024, securing the top position in MEA.

"This success is the result of a strategic vision that keeps pace with economic and technological transformations, aligned with the ambitious objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to double the size of the emirate’s economy by 2033 and establish it as one of the world’s top three urban economies," said Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai and the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE.
