‘Moon Walk’ Casts AR Rahman In Key Role

Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman takes on an on-screen role in the upcoming film Moon Walk, marking a significant moment in his career. The makers recently unveiled 14 character posters, offering a first look at the ensemble cast and building anticipation for the project.

In Moon Walk, Rahman not only appears on screen for the first time but also performs every song in the film. His character is introduced as an “Angry Young Film Director”. He is joined by Prabhudheva, who plays Babootty, an energetic young choreographer whose role blends humour and flair. The film is a dance-driven musical with the warmth of a family entertainer.

Directed, written and produced by Manoj NS under the Behindwoods banner, the film also features Yogi Babu in a triple role. The three characters come with a twist, which the director says will be revealed during the film’s audio launch.

The supporting cast includes Aju Varghese, Arjun Ashokan, Satz, Sushmitha, Nishma, Swaminathan, and Redin Kingsley. Manoj NS said the film has been enriched by the presence of seasoned performers and expressed confidence that audiences will enjoy the ensemble on the big screen. Moon Walk’s grand audio launch is scheduled for January 4 at Sathyabama University, with the film set for a worldwide release in May 2026.
