NASA has announced a new collaboration with Netflix to stream its NASA+ content on the OTT platform, making space exploration more accessible to global audiences. The agency revealed the partnership recently, confirming that the content will be available ad-free and at no cost, despite Netflix's subscription-based model.

Launched in November 2023, NASA+ is the agency's official streaming service, offering live and on-demand programming, including astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, documentaries and live views of Earth from the International Space Station. While the platform is already accessible via NASA's website and mobile app, the integration with Netflix is expected to significantly expand its reach.

According to NASA, the collaboration aims to make NASA's scientific exploration “even more accessible, allowing the agency to increase engagement with and inspire a global audience in a modern media landscape, where Netflix reaches a global audience of more than 700 million people.” In a similar initiative, NASA partnered with Prime Video in May to launch a FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) channel offering continuous space-related content. These partnerships highlight NASA's ongoing efforts to innovate science communication and ignite public imagination through mainstream digital platforms.
