Qatar Approves 2025–2028 Academic Calendar For Schools

A new academic calendar for schools in Qatar for the 2025–2028 period has been approved. As part of the calendar, the mid-year break has been fixed in the last third of December. It also includes a change to the first semester final exams, which will now take place before Qatar National Day.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education ensured that mid-second-semester exams will not coincide with the holy month of Ramadan. Students and school staff will receive two additional days off during the holy month, according to the new academic calendar, in addition to the official holiday. The calendar also introduces a "Test Day, Rest Day" system, exclusively for second-semester exams for high school certificate students. This system is designed to give students enough time to review and refocus between exams.

A new long weekend break has also been added to the calendar, scheduled annually after the mid-second-semester exams. Aiming for optimal educational outcomes, the calendar offers a balanced division of the academic year and ensures that the curriculum is fully covered within the allotted school days.
