The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has released a circular requiring car dealers to reveal the value of the car and spare parts and the costs of periodic maintenance in advertisements directed to consumers before selling new vehicles. The initiative seeks to foster transparency, improve customer experience, and build stronger trust between buyers and car dealerships.

According to the ministry, car dealers must clearly display the prices and specifications of new cars in showrooms. Dealers are required to provide a large interactive screen, no less than 42 inches in size, within showrooms and maintenance centers to enable consumers to enter the name of the required maintenance service or spare part and view its details and price, reported Qatar News Agency. By requiring dealers to provide this data electronically or on their digital platforms, the ministry aims to ensure consumers are informed about essential purchase and maintenance costs before committing to a sale.
