Sanju Samson Signs With Chennai Super Kings
Veteran Ravindra Jadeja and Australian all-rounder Sam Curran are set to head to the Royals

After weeks of speculation, Sanju Samson has officially moved to Chennai Super Kings, a source told MediaOne. The 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman leaves Rajasthan Royals after 11 years, having led the team in recent seasons. Veteran Ravindra Jadeja and Australian all-rounder Sam Curran are set to head to the Royals, with Jadeja expected to take over the captaincy at his new side.
Samson had expressed his desire to leave the Royals ahead of the 2026 season, attracting interest from several teams including Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. While Delhi came close to sealing a deal, Chennai emerged as a serious contender. The Royals were keen on a swap that included Jadeja and another player, with Curran eventually meeting their demands.
The IPL trade deadline is set for November 15, and with this major deal completed, remaining trades are expected to follow soon. The much-anticipated IPL auction is scheduled for December 15 in Dubai.
