Saudi Arabia To Localize 41 Professions In Tourism Sector

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has reportedly issued a resolution mandating the localization of 41 professions within private sector establishments in the tourism industry in the country. The resolution, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, is part of measures to generate more job opportunities for Saudi nationals in all regions.
According to Saudi Press Agency report, the implementation of this resolution will occur in three phases, covering 41 leadership and specialised professions. This includes hotel manager, tourist guide specialist, sales specialist, and hotel receptionist. The initial phase is scheduled to begin on April 22, 2026, with subsequent phases launching on January 3, 2027, and January 2, 2028. It is worth noting that all private sector tourism establishments are subject to this decision.
