British actor Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the 'Harry Potter' series, shared a viral moment with Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025. The selfie, posted by Rahman on Instagram with the caption “With Draco”, quickly drew widespread attention, sparking excitement among fans of both stars.
The photograph was taken during the world premiere of 'Gandhi', director Hansal Mehta’s ambitious web series based on historian Ramachandra Guha’s acclaimed books 'Gandhi Before India' and 'Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World'. The series, which explores Mahatma Gandhi’s early life and evolution as a leader, is the first Indian series to premiere at TIFF.
Felton portrays Josiah Oldfield, a close associate of Gandhi during his London years, while actor Pratik Gandhi plays the titular role. Rahman has composed the music for the series, which is expected to span three seasons and bring Gandhi’s journey to an international audience.
The Instagram post drew playful comments from fans, with one user writing, “An unexpected collab of A Pure Soul and A Pure Blood,” while another said, “ARR has joined Slytherin.” Others hailed the image as the “picture of the century”, celebrating the collaboration between the Indian music legend and the British actor.
