Riyadh: The World Economic Forum's Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh will see the participation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken in a dedicated session on the Gaza crisis. The session aims to address the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and explore ways to lay the groundwork for its recovery.

During the conversation with Secretary of State Blinken, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a dialogue on the Gaza crisis and discuss potential actions to address the severe humanitarian situation. The crisis has resulted in acute food insecurity and enormous reconstruction costs for critical infrastructure, estimated at $18.5 billion. The stability of the region is at stake, necessitating immediate and coordinated efforts to meet the urgent needs of the people in Gaza.

Sigrid Kaag, Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza at the United Nations, will share insights into the ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza. Samer S. Khoury, Chairman of Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), will also contribute valuable perspectives on the reconstruction challenges and opportunities in Gaza. Mostafa Madbouli, Prime Minister of Egypt, and Bisher Hani Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan, will join the discussion, along with other prominent speakers.

The meeting's program agenda also emphasizes the World Economic Forum's Centre for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics, which facilitates progress on global and regional priorities within the complex geopolitical landscape of our time. The aim is to shape constructive dialogues, actions, and solutions for the challenges faced by various regions.
