Chadwick Boseman To Be Honoured With Posthumous Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star
Boseman played some of the most memorable roles in the Marvel universe
Chadwick Boseman, the late American actor, will receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, five years after his death. The Black Panther star died in August 2020 at age 43 due to colon cancer. His star will be unveiled on Hollywood Boulevard on November 20.
His widow, Simone, is expected to attend the ceremony on his behalf. Media reports say Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and actor Viola Davis, who starred with him in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, are likely to speak at the event.
Boseman played some of the most memorable roles in the Marvel universe, appearing in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. His performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom earned him a posthumous Oscar and BAFTA nomination, along with wins at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He will join fellow Marvel stars Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth on the Walk of Fame.
Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said the Chamber of Commerce was “deeply honoured” to celebrate Boseman’s legacy, noting that his impact on and off screen continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
