Dubai Launches Permit To Install Parking Shades In Residential Neighbourhoods

Own a car in Dubai but don’t have a shaded spot to park it? There’s now a simple way to fix that. You can apply for permission to install a parking shade through the Roads and Transport Authority’s official website. The permit to install parking shades will be applicable to designated and properly reserved parking spaces and is processed through contracting companies.

Parking shades come with a few conditions. They must leave enough room for pedestrians and cyclists to move freely and should not cause any traffic or safety issues. Nothing should block road signs or disturb utilities hidden under the pavement or parking area. The shade has to match the RTA’s approved look and colours, and it can’t be a permanent structure. If repair work, development, or an emergency comes up, it should be easy to remove when asked.
