Indian Railways Rolls Out RailOne App
This single interface enables the users to book reserved and unreserved tickets, purchase platform tickets and check PNR status.
Indian Railways has launched a unified mobile application, "RailOne", on Tuesday, offering a one-stop platform for various passenger services. The app was unveiled on Tuesday by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the organisation responsible for developing and implementing services and information systems for Indian Railways.
According to the ministry, "It not only houses all the services in one place but also provides integrated connectivity between services, giving the user a holistic package of Indian Railways services." Instead of using separate applications, this single interface enables the users to book reserved and unreserved tickets, purchase platform tickets, check PNR status, track trains, access Rail Madad services, and order food on the train.
RailOne is currently available for both Android and iOS users, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. The app also features a single sign-on facility to reduce the use of multiple passwords. People who are already using the RailConnect or UTSonMobile applications can use the same credentials to log in to RailOne. The app includes R-Wallet (Railway-e-Wallet) functionality, offering secure access via numeric mPIN and biometric login.
