The rule will be effective from June 1 until September 15

Qatar's Ministry of Labour has announced a temporary suspension of delivery motorcycle operations from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. The rule, effective from June 1 until September 15, aims to protect delivery workers from risks of intense heat. The announcement came from the Labour Ministry's X account.

The rule will reportedly allow delivery companies to use only cars to perform their services between 10 am and 3:30 pm. Qatar also recently announced that work in open spaces between 10am and 3.30pm will be prohibited during summer. The rule will be enforced from June 1. The initiative also serves to shield workers from the risks posed by severe heat. "As part of this, the Occupational Safety and Health Department is running a campaign throughout May to raise awareness about heat stress and its prevention in workplaces," said the ministry in a post on X on May 27.
