Trump Organization Launches Mobile Phone Business
Marketed as a luxury "Made in America" product, the new golden-coloured phone aims to compete with major tech brands, including Apple.

The Trump Organization, led by US President Donald Trump's sons, has announced the upcoming launch of a Trump-branded smartphone and mobile service, entering the highly competitive American telecommunications market. The new device, priced at $499, is expected to launch in August and will include unlimited services and free international calls to over 100 countries for a monthly fee of $47.45 – symbolically referencing Trump's status as the 45th and 47th president.
Marketed as a luxury "Made in America" product, the new golden-coloured phone aims to compete with major tech brands, including Apple. Trump recently threatened to impose a 25% import tax on iPhones not manufactured domestically, which signals a pressure for American-made electronics. The Trump Organization emphasized 24/7 customer service and promised to disrupt the current market dominated by AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, which offer services at less than $40 a month. -
However, the venture has sparked new criticism as technology analysts question the feasibility of producing a fully American-made smartphone due to the scarcity of domestic components. The absence of a working prototype and sustainable demand for the product have fuelled concerns about the product's viability. Ethics watchdogs have raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, labelling the initiative as another means for personal profit. With existing network providers struggling to grow beyond 10 million subscribers, experts remain sceptical about consumer demand for a branded device in an already saturated market.
