Donald Trump Shares AI Video Of Barack Obama Being Arrested

The video seems to be altered footage from a meeting in the Oval Office that originally took place in November 2016

US President Donald Trump now seems to be imagining the possibility of having his predecessor, former President Barack Obama, imprisoned. On Monday, Trump posted an AI-generated video on his social media platform, Truth Social, depicting Obama being arrested by the FBI and sent to prison. There is no disclaimer in the video, however, to inform viewers that it is fabricated.

The one minute and 26 seconds long video begins with Obama stating, "No one, especially the President, is above the law," and is followed by similar remarks from other Democratic politicians, including Joe Biden. After about 40 seconds, the soundtrack shifts. The AI video then shows Trump and Obama together in the Oval Office. Suddenly, FBI agents storm in. They proceed to force Obama to his knees and place him in handcuffs, all while Trump observes with a smile. The video concludes with a scene of Barack Obama in an orange prison uniform inside a jail cell.

The video seems to be altered footage from a meeting in the Oval Office that originally took place in November 2016, during the transition period when the Republican leader had just been elected and President Obama was preparing to leave the White House. Trump's recent post, without clarifying its fabricated nature, has sparked widespread criticism. Commentators and political observers have reportedly labelled his actions as deeply irresponsible, stressing that such conduct by a former president undermines public trust and highlights the need for accountability on influential platforms.

This post follows recent allegations from the Director of National Intelligence that the Obama administration and FBI officials “manufactured and politicised intelligence” with the aim of casting doubt on Trump's 2016 election victory. In connection with the matter, the director also sought Obama's prosecution. Democrats, in turn, denounced the allegation as a tactic to shift public discourse away from the Trump administration's actions concerning the Jeffrey Epstein files.
