Bollywood actor Salman Khan has recently revealed medical issues that he is currently battling. In the latest season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman Khan said he is working at the age of 59 despite suffering from health issues like brain aneurysm, trigeminal neuralgia and arteriovenous malformation (AVM).
The actor revealed that he had surgery in Los Angeles in 2011 for trigeminal neuralgia, a type of chronic pain disorder that involves sudden attacks of severe facial pain. According to the US National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), trigeminal neuralgia is a type of neuropathic pain, sometimes caused by an injury or nerve lesion.
A brain aneurysm, also known as cerebral aneurysm or intracranial aneurysm, is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. If the brain aneurysm leaks or ruptures, it causes bleeding in the brain. According to NINDS, an arteriovenous malformation is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels that causes problems with the connections between arteries and veins. This condition most often occurs in the spinal cord and in the brain but can develop elsewhere in the body.
