Stranger Things 5 Sets New Netflix Record

Stranger Things Season 5 has made a massive debut on Netflix, pulling in 59.6 million views within its first five days. It the strongest premiere week ever for an English-language Netflix series.

Netflix says the new season entered the Top 10 in all 93 countries it tracks and reached No. 1 in 90 of them. The launch also surpasses the strong performance of Season 4, which premiered in 2022 with 287 million hours watched — roughly equal to about 22 million views under Netflix’s old measurement system.

Every previous season of Stranger Things also surged back into Netflix’s global Top 10 just before the release of the final season, marking a first for the platform. The first four episodes of Season 5 arrived last week, with three more set to drop on Christmas Day. The series finale will premiere on New Year’s Eve.
