A woman in Greater Noida has filed a police complaint against her husband, accusing him of deceiving her before marriage by hiding his baldness and misrepresenting his education and financial status.
According to the FIR, the couple married on January 16, 2024. The woman alleged that her husband claimed to have thick hair with only minor hair fall, but she later discovered he was bald and had worn a wig during the wedding. She said she realised the truth only after the marriage.
The complaint goes beyond claims of deception. The woman alleged that after the wedding, her husband harassed and physically assaulted her, threatened to make her private photographs public, and forced her to bring marijuana from Thailand to India during an overseas trip.
Based on her statement, police have registered a case against the husband and his in-laws under multiple sections, including cruelty by husband or relatives, criminal intimidation, intentional insult, breach of trust, assault, and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Police said the matter is under investigation.
