Munitions India Limited Signs Contract for Supply of Artillery Ammunition to Saudi Arabia

Ajay Bhatt, the Indian Minister of Defense and Tourism, held several meetings with ministers and authorities in Riyadh, aiming to establish collaboration between India and Saudi Arabia in various defense sectors. One major outcome of these discussions was the signing of a contract worth 225 million USD between Munitions India Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the supply of Artillery ammunition. The contract was signed through the Indian partner, Nadrah Company, and attended by H.E. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority of Military Industries, KSA, and the Indian State Minister of Defense and Tourism.

During his visit, Minister Bhatt had a meeting with H.E. Dr. Khaled Al-Bayari, the Assistant Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration and further strengthen the ties between the two countries. Throughout the discussions, both sides expressed a deep understanding of the evolving security landscape and emphasized the importance of increased bilateral defense cooperation in various sectors. The discussions also recognized the mutual benefits of a strong partnership in safeguarding regional security. Minister Ajay Bhatt expressed confidence that the India-Saudi Arabia partnership will continue to grow, contributing significantly to regional stability and global security.

Minister Bhatt took to X platform to share his excitement over the contract signing, mentioning that it strengthens the defense production cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia. The visit of Minister Bhatt and the signing of this contract highlight the growing defense ties between the two nations.

 

The embassy in Riyadh organized a Defense Industries Networking Event during the World Defense Show, bringing together companies from Saudi Arabia and India. Minister Ajay Bhatt engaged in fruitful discussions with the industrial communities of both countries, strengthening partnerships and exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The initiatives of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' in India and 'Vision 2030' in Saudi Arabia were discussed, recognizing their potential for mutual benefits. Both initiatives prioritize technological advancements, indigenous capabilities, and knowledge sharing. The visit has reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties, opened new avenues for cooperation, and solidified shared commitments towards a safer and more prosperous future.
