Real Madrid Makes Carlo Ancelotti’s Departure Official
Ancelotti's tenure as Brazil's coach will commence with World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Ecuador in June.
Real Madrid has announced that Carlo Ancelotti will leave the club after this weekend's final game of the LaLiga season. The confirmation comes after the Brazilian Football Confederation announced him as their new coach. The 65-year-old will take charge of the national side from May 26. Ancelotti's tenure as Brazil's coach will commence with World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Ecuador in June.
"Real Madrid C.F. and Carlo Ancelotti have reached an agreement to end his time as Real Madrid manager," said the club in a statement on Friday. "Our club wishes to express its gratitude and affection to one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football," the Spanish giants added. Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid was set to run until June next year. Xabi Alonso, a former player for Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Spain, is expected to replace Ancelotti. Alonso previously confirmed his departure from Bayer Leverkusen.
