Saudi Arabia - In a move aimed at promoting road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic regulations, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced a significant 50 percent discount on traffic fines across the entire Kingdom. This reduction applies to fines that were issued before April 18 and provides motorists with an opportunity to settle their outstanding penalties at a reduced cost.

To take advantage of the discount, motorists are required to pay their fines within six months from the date of implementation of the scheme. Payments can be made in a lump sum or in installments, allowing individuals to select a payment method that suits their financial situation.

It is important to note that any traffic violations committed after the commencement of the discount scheme will be subject to Article 75 classification. This classification allows for a 25 percent reduction in the fine for a single violation, providing an additional incentive for drivers to adhere to traffic laws moving forward.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated the need for motorists to settle their penalties within the designated timeframe. Failure to do so may result in legal consequences, including imprisonment and other legal actions.

The authority also used this opportunity to emphasize the importance of traffic law adherence among drivers in Saudi Arabia. By encouraging compliance and ensuring safer roads, this initiative seeks to create a more secure environment for all road users.

The discounted fines initiative reflects the Ministry of Interior's commitment to enhancing road safety and promoting a culture of responsible driving throughout the Kingdom. It serves as a reminder to motorists about the significance of complying with traffic regulations in order to protect lives and maintain order on the roads.

As this discount scheme comes into effect, the Saudi Arabian authorities urge all drivers to take advantage of this opportunity and settle their fines promptly. By doing so, individuals can not only avail themselves of the discounted rates but also contribute to the overall goal of fostering a secure and harmonious traffic environment in the nation.
